Tesla is now accepting bitcoin payments, as promised earlier this year. The information came from Tesla's website and CEO Elon Musk's tweet. News Engadget.
In a series of tweets, the head of Tesla said that Tesla will consider bitcoin payments as bitcoin. It will not be converted to ordinary currency. Tesla has used internal, open source software to launch the service, and Tesla will manage Bitcoin nodes directly.
This service is currently available for US customers only. However, Elon Musk added that Bitcoin payment facilities will be introduced in countries outside the United States later this year.
Apparently Tesla will not accept any cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin. Customers have to pay the full amount through one transaction. This payment can be made by scanning the QR code or copying and pasting the bitcoin address.
