Video calling company Zoom, which gained millions of subscribers during the ongoing epidemic, has finally launched an end-to-end encrypted video call service for free accounts as well. News TechCrunch.
A few days ago Zoom launched an end-to-end encryption facility for their paid customers. The company was subsequently criticized. It is said that they have created a distinction between paid and free customers through this feature.
Discussions of paid customers were not accessed by Zoom, but conversations of free customers were not 'private'. Finally last week Zoom reported that it was preparing to bring the service to free customers.
This feature is being introduced in desktop and mobile apps from version 5.4.0 of Zoom. Earlier in May, the company acquired Keybase to bring encryption technology to Zoom Call.
